  STATEMENT
I am interested in the human condition. My work discusses the relationship between external factors such as heritage, influences, and past transgressions with the internal exploration necessary to achieve emotional understanding and interior solitude.

The search for transcendence requires an acceptance of one's own identity and situation. It is difficult to separate one's characteristics into categories; however, emotion and memory influence our thoughts and dealings. In this manner, past actions both haunt and uplift us. Our lives are a convoluted mess of people, places, and situations, all of which influence our approach toward new experiences. It is my belief that internal experience is directly related to such external matters.

My work explores what it means to be human: discussing the necessity of accepting our weaknesses and burdens, overcoming guilt, coming to terms with our past, and searching for higher meaning and comfort. Interior solitude begins with acceptance of oneself and leads to understanding the connectedness between all things.
